Associate Attorney - Construction Law - Boca Raton Looking for a Florida-licensed attorney with 4+ years of experience in construction or commercial litigation. Must have excellent writing skills. Our law firm is positioned as Florida's Premier Residential Construction Law Firm for Homeowners. We help homeowners before, during, and after their custom home builds and major home renovation projects. We provide advice, guidance, and contract drafting services to homeowners before projects. We provide ongoing advice and guidance as a Renovation Concierge during projects. We provide fixed-fee pre-litigation services to homeowners when their projects go sideways in terms of time, money, and quality of work. We provide litigation services in select cases. This is a niche within the construction law niche that we are currently set to dominate through value-added services and creative billing models (not just hourly rates). We also represent a select group of contractors with their contracts and collections/lien issues. The firm is on track for aggressive growth, and we need a client-service-oriented, full-time associate attorney experienced in handling disputes between contractors and owners to join our team in support of our Senior Associate and Managing Partner. The role involves providing legal advice and guidance to homeowners regarding their construction projects, researching and drafting legal memoranda, attending court hearings, supporting the firm's senior attorneys in preparing for depositions, mediations, and evidentiary hearings, negotiating on behalf of homeowners with contractors or other lawyers, and all phases of pre-suit and pre-trial litigation. This job is not dictated by how many hours you can bill (although there are requirements). We need an attorney who is driven by genuinely solving clients' problems in the most efficient way possible. Our office is in East Boca Raton. This position can be filled by a Florida-licensed attorney working in person, remotely, or hybrid. If you live within driving distance of our office, you will be expected to work in the office at least part-time. • Communicating empathetically with non-institutional clients in need of valuable, real-life guidance with issues of great importance to them
• Resolving the clients’ issues as promptly and efficiently as possible
• Negotiating with opposing parties or their attorneys to resolve ongoing construction disputes
• Supporting the firm's litigation practice through discovery, depositions, mediation, etc
• Researching and drafting legal memoranda, motions, etc
• Guiding homeowners through issues common to major renovation projects, including issues relating to payments, timing, and quality of work

Qualifications:

• You are licensed in Florida with 4+ years of construction or commercial litigation experience
• You take immense pride in being an excellent, succinct, and persuasive writer
• All phases of pre-trial litigation
• You focus on resolving disputes efficiently as dictated by the best interests of the client
• You are empathetic yet can have tough conversations with clients
• You are a strong negotiator
