Job Description
Blood bank Tech needs 2 years of experience at a medical or manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience
Blood bank Tech requires:
oA.S. Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
oMedical Technology/Medical Laboratory Sciences background
oKnowledge of Immunohematology and blood banking is prefered
o- Familiarity with the guidelines and regulations of FDA, OSHA, ISO, and cGMP is prefered
o- Manual dexterity to handle instruments, complete repetitive motions, and stand for long periods of time is required.
o- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
o- Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required.
o- The ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and challenges at one time is required
o- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment required
o
Blood bank Tech duties:
oPerforms in-process, final product, stability and raw material testing using both automated and manual testing methods with a quality mindest.
oUnderstands how this testing directly impact our customers and the patients they serve
oConducts Failure investigations to determine root cause of out of specification results
oPerform routine maintenance
oMaintain site's retention sample program
oSet up Bioburden Testing for final product
oWeekends and OT is occasionally required
oMust be able to lift a maximum of 35 pounds
