Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Certified Surgical Technician to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing operating rooms, arrange equipment, and support surgeons and nurses during procedures to ensure patient safety and successful surgical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions required for procedures
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses in surgical operations as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Maintain strict aseptic and sterile techniques during all procedures
• Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during operations
• Monitor and account for surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies throughout procedures to ensure nothing is retained post-surgery
• Assist in the cleaning and restocking of operating rooms and equipment between procedures
• Handle specimens submitted for laboratory analysis with care and appropriate documentation
• Recognize emergency situations and assist appropriately
• Participate in departmental quality assurance and infection control initiatives
• Adhere to all hospital, state, and federal regulations related to surgical procedures

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent
• Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required (NBSTSA or NCCT)
• Experience: [Insert years, e.g., Minimum 1 year of prior surgical tech experience preferred]
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and infection control procedures
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
