Converge is a leading Managing General Agent (MGA) specializing in cyber insurance solutions that combine innovative underwriting with deep cybersecurity expertise. Our mission is to provide businesses with comprehensive cyber risk coverage while leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance risk assessment, claims processing, and policyholder protection.
We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to drive the development and execution of our technology strategy, ensuring that our cyber risk underwriting, data analytics, and security solutions remain best-in-class. This role requires a visionary leader with deep experience in building scalable platforms, managing large engineering teams, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders including investors, partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Roadmap
• Define and execute Converge's long-term technology road map, ensuring it aligns with business goals and industry trends.
• Build a scalable, data driven insurance platform, incorporating AI/ML, automation, and analytics.
• Lead the development of risk assessment tools, underwriting engines, and automated claims processing systems to enhance operational efficiency.
• Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging technologies that improve platform performance, user experience, and security.
Platform & Product Development
• Lead the development of a best in class underwriting and claims platform, ensuring efficiency, automation, and scalability.
• Architect and scale API driven infrastructure that seamlessly integrates with third party data providers, brokers, carriers, and policy administration systems.
• Lead AI and automation initiatives to enhance underwriting efficiency, claims adjudication, pricing and policy issuance.
• Implement data driven insights and reporting capabilities to enhance underwriting accuracy and claims efficiency.
Engineering Leadership & Team Management
• Build, scale, and mentor a high performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, resilience, collaboration, and execution.
• Lead a distributed engineering team, ensuring best practices in software development, DevOps, and security.
• Drive Agile development methodologies to accelerate product innovation and delivery.
• Optimize engineering operations, workflows, and technical debt management to support high growth scalability.
Stakeholder Engagement & External Relationships
• Seve as a strategic technology partner to the CEO, executive leadership, and board, providing insights on product and tech driven growth strategies.
• Engage with investors, partners, and key customers, articulating Converge's technology vision and value proposition.
• Represent Converge at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements to drive brand awareness and thought leadership.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
• Effectively communicate complex underwriting and claims product strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams.
• Partner with internal teams (Underwriting, claims, product and distribution) to ensure the product roadmap meets business needs and market demands.
• Serve as a key liaison between engineering, product, and business teams, translating business objectives into actionable technology strategies.
• Support leadership in investor and board level discussions, providing insight into product development, scalability, and strategic direction.
• Promote a collaborative, transparent communication culture to drive alignment, execution, and innovation across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
• 10+ years of experience in cyber insurance software, insurance technology, or related fields, with expertise in engineering, DevOps, software development, and product development.
• Proven experience designing and executing multi-year technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business strategy and market needs.
• Deep understanding of underwriting and claims software and how technology can drive automation, efficiency, and scale in insurance operations.
• Expertise in architecting scalable, cloud-based platforms, using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with a focus on high performance, secure and reliable systems.
• Strong background in API development and integrations, enabling seamless connectivity with third party data providers, brokers, carrier, and policy administration systems.
• Hands on experience leading to the development of AI/ML driven automation.
• Hands on experience with software engineering, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud native architectures.
