Salary: $85,150 - 153,925 per year Requirements:

• We expect you to have familiarity with general IT security products and their functions, such as routers, switches, firewalls, IDS, operating systems, software applications, and mobile devices. You should possess a general understanding of how various IT products and concepts contribute to information security, including full disk encryption, mobile device management, and remote access/VPN. Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies like agile, as well as tools such as Subversion, GitLab, Confluence, and JIRA, is essential. You should have a strong applied knowledge of network, transport, and application layer communications and security protocols, including TCP/IP, TLS, IPsec, SSH, and LDAP. Familiarity with applied cryptography concepts like X.509, Diffie-Hellman, and PKI is a must. Lastly, we require strong customer-facing communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities:

• In this role, you will collaborate with IT product vendors to assess the applicability of IT product security standards to their offerings. You will interpret these standards to evaluate the compliance or noncompliance of product designs through research and discussions with technical personnel. Additionally, you will devise, execute, and document security functional testing to demonstrate how tested products adhere to the specified IT security standards. Troubleshooting and providing recommendations when noncompliant findings arise will also be part of your duties. Conducting vulnerability research to ensure that documented security vulnerabilities are sufficiently mitigated by product configurations and patch levels is crucial. You will produce documentation that outlines how IT products meet security requirements and develop user guidance for secure configurations. Lastly, you will be required to justify the completeness and accuracy of product test results to third-party quality reviewers.

We are Leidos, and we are on the lookout for an enthusiastic product tester to support our Common Criteria evaluation initiatives within our Accredited Testing & Evaluation (AT&E) Laboratory. Our ideal candidate is someone who can work independently and perform security tests on commercial off-the-shelf IT products with little supervision. This role demands strong time management skills as you will be handling multiple product certification projects simultaneously and understanding how security requirements apply to various hardware and software products. You may also assist with the setup and maintenance of our laboratory infrastructure. Experience in software development or DevOps is a plus, as is prior knowledge of Common Criteria certification or related standards such as FIPS 140, FedRAMP, or NIST SP 800-53. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of two years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline related to computer science, mathematics, or information technology. We can consider additional years of relevant professional experience in place of formal education.

This position is based in Columbia, MD, and while telework is acceptable, we prefer candidates who can be in-office regularly to support local efforts.
