Job Description

Join us as a Senior Project Manager  in Cedar Rapids or Davenport and help us bring buildings to life for one of our large key customers in Eastern Iowa .

In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate with sales, engineering, and installation teams to design and execute building automation and control system projects for our commercial and industrial clients. What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and Deliver: Take full accountability for the execution of awarded projects, guiding field teams from kickoff to completion while promoting a high-performance culture.
  • Mentor and Train: Serve as a resource and mentor for project managers and engineers, helping elevate team knowledge and performance across the board.
  • Plan and Execute: Develop clear scopes of work and communication plans, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and ensure timely staffing and resource allocation.
  • Drive Results: Track progress, review job costs, monitor field performance, and ensure each project meets timeline, quality, and budget goals.
  • Communicate and Collaborate: Lead project meetings, maintain strong relationships with clients, and ensure their needs are met throughout and beyond the project.
  • Estimate and Propose: Prepare complete, timely proposals for new construction, upgrades, remodels, and retrofits, leveraging your expertise to win and execute complex jobs.
  • Improve and Evolve: Participate in industry trade organizations, continuously build customer relationships, and contribute to refining operational SOPs to elevate team standards.
  • Coach with Vision: Instill a sense of shared purpose and model leadership that reflects our company values in every interaction.

What You Bring:

  • Leadership Experience: A proven track record of managing large-scale construction or building automation projects with a hands-on leadership style.
  • Industry Knowledge: Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project management, with a deep understanding of building automation systems.
  • Mentorship Mindset: Skilled in coaching and developing others while leading by example.
  • Technical Mastery: Expert understanding of blueprints, specifications, estimating labor/materials, and managing full project lifecycles.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Organizational Excellence: Effective time management and attention to detail in fast-paced, multifaceted environments.
  • Digital Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Visio); capable with digital project tools and construction software.
  • Qualifications: Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience; valid driver’s license; ability to pass facility background checks.
  • Certification Preferred: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or other relevant project management certification is highly preferred.
  • Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel regionally as needed.
