Indian Creek School seeks excited and experienced teachers to serve as Session Directors in our summer program, beginning mid-June through July. A Session Director delivers weekly-themed curricula (e.g. indoor sports, sewing, ceramics, etc.) to groups up to 20 campers. The Session Director is responsible for the supervision of campers and will be provided counselors to assist with the week’s activities. Work hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. ICS is closed for camp on Thursday, June 19th and Friday, July 4th.
Ideal candidates are comfortable working with elementary-aged children and interacting with 1-2 high school aged and college-aged counselors. Summer camp session directors plan and execute each camp day, focusing on creativity, exploration, and play. The themes for Creek Camps are to be determined by Session Director with approval by the Summer Camp Director.
This is a seasonal 35 hour/week position reporting to the Director of Summer Camps. Compensation is $1500-$1750 per week employed.

Responsibilities
Preparing age-appropriate activities and projects based on weekly theme
Supervising assistant counselors and CITs while they are working in your program area
Manage camper behavior and create a safe and fun environment for all campers.
Attend mandatory training session
Participate in camp duties, such as car line, as assigned by Summer Camp Director
Communicate effectively with campers, staff, and families.
Qualifications
Session Directors should have experience working with young students in a school or camp setting. A college degree is highly preferred, but students working toward a degree in education or a related field are encouraged to apply. Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred, but not required.
Must pass Federal and State background checks along with Child Protective Services Background Check.
